Animation - Undergraduate Accreditation Guideilines - 2008.09
The assessment team, formed by professional industry people, will focus on the following areas when in the decision-making process of accrediting a course:
1. Learning Outcomes
2. Course Requirements
3. Resources
4. Staffing
It is essential that each course provides evidence that it reaches the specific benchmarks set.
Specific criteria for animation accreditation include:
- Drawing as a basis for 2D and 3D Animation
- Design: Character, Background and Concept
- Animation: The Production Process
- Compositing / Shooting on Film
- Sound recording and breakdown: Voice, Music & Effects
- Film Language
- History of Animation
- Studio practice and structure
- Career planning and guidance
Postgraduate Criteria

Accreditation of post-graduate courses is less prescriptive and criteria driven. The focus is more on the institution demonstrating to Skillset how the courses aims, learning outcomes, structure and delivery meet high industry standards and which particular aspects of the courses are unique and innovative. In particular they will need to demonstrate a high level of involvement from the industry and staff that have high levels of industry experience.
