Skillset Careers wins prestigious TUC Quality Award
Skillset Careers has been presented with the Trade Unions Congress (TUC) Quality Award.
Skillset Careers, the specialist careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) service for the creative media industries, has become the 25th recipient of this award in recognition of its support to the team of Union Learning Representatives and learners across the UK.
Skillset is the first Sector Skills Council to achieve the Quality Award from the TUC's learning services, unionlearn.
John Denham MP, Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills presented the award to the Skillset team and said:
"I am delighted to present the unionlearn Quality Award to Skillset in recognition of their work with trade unions. Skillset is playing an important role in raising skills levels throughout the country and helping individuals to develop their full potential."
Skillset Careers supports thousands of Careers Advisors, including Union Learning Representatives, to help their clients across the UK in identifying new opportunities, finding the right training and building the career they want.
Last year alone, Skillset Careers helped thousands of learners to find the right training for them. Our dedicated advisors received over 5,400 calls (through learndirect), 720 emails and organised 400 one-to-one career sessions for people working in the industry.
