Advertising your vacancy offline

The internet can bring you talented candidates quickly and easily. However, there are still times when advertising offline is more appropriate and inclusive. Can the job you are advertising be done by someone who doesn't need to know how to use the computer and access the internet? If so, you should also advertise in offline media that they will read, hear or see.

 

Offline media include:

  • Specialist press, such as:
    • Broadcast
    • The British Journal of Photography
    • New Media Age
  • Local newspapers, radio and television
  • Jobcentre Plus - free recruitment service and advice on a wide range of employment issues
  • Local schools and colleges - you may be able to begin a working relationship by offering work shadowing experience or giving a talk in your local school or college.
