Work placement guidelines
Skillset research has revealed that almost half (44%) of the Creative Media workforce said they had carried out unpaid work to get into the industry.
In this light, Skillset has worked with Creative & Cultural Skills and Arts Council England to produce the first ever Guidelines for Employers offering Work Placement Schemes in the Creative Industries.
The guidelines clearly set out the law and employment duties in the creative industries, where gaining entry is so often informal and open to a "who you know" culture.
Use the links below to find out more about the guidelines and to download them, and also to read some illuminating case studies, providing examples of the different kinds of work placements.
