Diversity

Creative Skillset is passionate about promoting diversity, which remains a key focus within the Creative Industries. Certain groups are still underrepresented within the workforce, as highlighted in our research.

Data from the Creative Skillset Employment Census (2012) and the Creative Media Workforce Survey (2010) show that:

  • 6% of the workforce consider themselves to be disabled
  • 36% of the creative media workforce are women
  • 5.4% of the creative media workforce are from a Black Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) background

For the Creative Industries to prosper and provide products that appeal to a wide range of audiences and consumers, we need a diverse workforce and the diverse range of skills that brings.

Diversity is also a key focus of Creative Skillset's work and is woven in to all our projects and funding. Creative Skillset is proud to be a Stonewall Top 100 employer.
