The First Post Training Programme
The First Post programme was created to fast forward junior employees into a state of technical know–how, understanding of the industry and all post production house operations.
The innovative trainee scheme is currently taking place in the North West and South West of England and in Wales, after a successful pilot in London.
It's held over six months, with day release sessions including interactive learning, classroom lectures, trips to different facilities and presentations from industry experts.
The course provides a deep induction in heatlth and safety, customer service skills and the ability to progress swiftly within your company.
First Post has been designed by the industry, for the industry. Over thirty facility houses helped create the course. It is practically based to provide a snug fit for the sector's needs with staff equipped to hit the ground running and be immediately useful. It ultimately aims to become a recognised industry standard training scheme.
Chief Executive of UK Screen Association Gaynor Davenport is confident that "First Post equips students with the skills employers really want."
Past participants rated it with "Two thumbs up!" and agreed it gives "a solid understanding of the industry... (First Post) served as a bridge between practical and theoretical elements of the job."
