In 2008, Skillset has been touring Trailblazers for the first time, and we are delighted to have worked in partnership with Tribeca Film Festival.

The aim was to promote the best emerging UK talent to the international, and importantly the North American, film industry.

Activities included:

• A 90 minute screening for industry delegates, of the best graduation films from the Skillset Screen Academy Network
• A Tribeca Talks: Industry panel with Shane Meadows
• A Tribeca Talks panel with Oscar nominated director Mike Figgis

The screening profiled award-winning talent coming from the Skillset Screen Academy Network, the very best film academies in the UK. Films included: Cocoon, T.O.M., Dog, Waiting for Exit Music, Ravi Goes to School, Scarlet Sunrise and Friends Forever.
 
Mike Figgis introduced the screening, and to cap off a hugely successful collaboration, there was a networking event with the filmmakers directly following the screening.
