Trailblazers
2008 is the second year of Trailblazers, a joint initiative between the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) and Skillset showcasing new UK filmmaking talent.
The intention is to unite the work of the Skillset Screen Academies with that of EIFF in recognition of their joint commitment to the generation, encouragement and promotion of new British talent.
It offers Skillset Screen Academy students and graduates an introduction to the UK film industry and the film festival circuit, and celebrates the names coming from the new British films in the EIFF programme.
In total there are 23 Trailblazers this year: 13 Skillset Screen Academy students, and 10 new names from the EIFF new British film programme.
