Revolution is an independent film production company based in London. They employ four permanent staff. Fiona McGuire, Head of Production, led on Revolution's application to the scheme.

"When I heard about Skillset's Company Development scheme I immediately put a proposal forward to take advantage of the opportunity to get support on HR issues as well as financial support for training.

In terms of benefits, the experience helped Revolution to develop a more varied approach to staff training and development. Although junior staff at entry level jobs ultimately leave the company to progress their careers, the company benefits by improving the skill base of the staff, while helping them maximise their opportunities within the company.

We regularly do on-the-job training but we have also developed training plans including formal courses, that help our staff obtain the skills they need for their current job and their future careers.

We experience the benefits of a more motivated workforce who have the confidence to take on more responsibility. The staff feel more supported and are therefore more willing to take risks and stretch themselves.
