Organisations can now apply for funding to deliver training for industry professionals in the UK film industry.

2008 Skillset Film Skills Fund comprises different funding programmes with different dates as a deadline for application:

Please note that the Funding Priorities for each of these funds will be released approximately six weeks before their closing dates.

2008 Funding Programmes:

Continuing Professional Development 2008
This is a UK-wide programme open to training providers across the Nations and regions, provided their projects address the Funding Priorities described within the programme. Please note that we cannot support projects which are designed simply to support a single business or organisation.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) projects will deliver the specific training and development that's needed by freelance professionals already in the UK's film workforce.

Structured New Entrant Training October 2008

This funding programme aims to address the specific industry requirements for Skillset funded schemes in 2008/09, taking into account current training and education provision in the UK.

Projects supported under Structured New Entrants Training will help the Skillset Film Skills Fund and the Skillset TV Freelance Fund to achieve their aim of "Bringing the UK film and TV Industries a competitive edge, enabling us to compete in the global market place on the basis of the highest level of skills".

Following successful piloting of the Skillset Film Skills Fund's Company Development support over the past three years, we are pleased to announce a new round of support for independent companies within the UK film industry.

The Skillset Film Skills Fund is now offering two types of support for independent SME companies in the UK film industry:

• Human Resources & Training Consultancy Service and
• Funding for Business & Management Skills Training for your staff.

Please remember that the application process is different for Project Delivery Funding, Company Development Grants and Innovation Bursaries, Please see the information below on how these procedures differ and make sure you follow the correct one.

1. Read the Funding Programme information for the programme you wish to apply to listed above, it will include:

- our current funding priorities;
- types of funding you can apply for; and
- levels of support and application deadlines.

Please remember that applications will only be accepted under these Funding Programmes and their deadlines. Please use the information contained on the funding programmes above.

2. Organisation Guidelines
The Guidelines tell you everything you need to know about making an application to the Film Skills Fund. Before going ahead, please read them carefully as they will tell you about the areas we will consider funding and how to apply.

3. Organisation Monitoring Form.
This form is not part of your application but provides us with important information which will help us to ensure that our application process is equal and open. The information you provide will be used for monitoring purposes only. You need to submit this form for both Project Delivery Funding and Innovation Bursaries.

4. Innovation Bursaries

For Innovation Bursaries complete a 2008 Innovation Bursaries Application Form. You should complete this form if you wish to apply for funding to  research and develop a training project. The application form is available to download in MS Word format. Please save it to your computer before completing it electronically.

5. Company Development Grant

For a Company Development Grant please fill in the 2008 Company Development Grant Application form.The application form is available to download in MS Word format. Please save it to your computer before completing it electronically.

For the rest of the funding programmes, complete a 2008 Project Delivery Application Form. You should complete this form if you wish to apply for funding to deliver a project. 7.  2008 Organisation Budget Form
The 2008 Organisation Budget Form is an excel workbook that contains a How To Guide and the Budget Form. You must fill in the budget sheet for the entire length of your project. Please save it to your computer before completing it electronically
