What advice would you give to others seeking work experience?
''Pick your area carefully and get some good work experience. Before you're in the industry, you don't know what it's like so work experience is the key. There are so many areas within the media to work, by doing work experience you can become clearer with what you want. Then choose your area carefully and follow your heart.''


Is there a skill you need or want to learn?
''One of the best skills is being able to communicate to people. Also, to be respectful of people's time because filmmaking is expensive. Try to be down-to-earth and have an honest and direct approach. At the end of the day we're helping each other out and it's a team effort.''

''I don't know much about new media. But it's good to keep up with what's happening in the industry because it's fast evolving. Especially with brand new technologies, like DVD, there'll be a steep learning curve. It pays to read publications.''


Do you have to multi-skill, or do you work in one area?
''Multi-skilling is great, but it is also important to specialise, otherwise you'll become a jack-of-all-trades and master of none.''
