Creative Leaders Development Scheme (CPD Funding Programme) - Is your company eligible?
The Creative Leaders Development Scheme aims to further the career development of core creative talent working in the UK television industry by providing individuals with high profile industry mentors and personal development programmes.
The Skillset TV Freelance Fund will invest up to a total of £200,000 to support one organisation to deliver, manage and further develop the Skillset Creative Leaders Development Scheme.
This includes the costs of the mentoring expert assigned by Skillset; a fixed sum of £20,000. This sum will be met by Skillset but will be attributed to the costs of the project. Therefore you may apply for up to £180,000.
Organisations can apply for an amount of up to 70% of the total costs of the scheme. Successful organisations will be expected to find the remaining 30% of the money from sources other than Skillset, as partnership funding. A minimum of 25% of this partnership funding must be cash, not in-kind support. Follow this link to find out more about partnership funding.
Is your company eligible?
Only organisations, not individuals, can apply for this funding. Follow this link to find out what we mean by organisation.
Your organisation should have a successful background in delivering high quality training and development projects, and must:
- be working within the UK television industry and making an industry-led application with confirmed partners on board;
- have an in-depth knowledge of the structure of the UK television industry and senior roles within its freelance workforce;
- have established relationships with broadcasters and/or independent production.

Your application must outline among other things:
- How you will advertise and promote the scheme to ensure a diverse range of participants;
- How you will add value to the scheme through innovative methods of delivery (e.g. webcasts, blogs, social networking for mentees); and
- How participants will acquire the necessary new skills in the most time- and cost-effective way.
