A four part evening course to enable print and broadcast journalist to transfer their media skills to content creation for new multiplatforms.
People no longer consume media in just one medium, which poses both huge challenges and opportunities for Britain's media workers. The age of the single media specialist is disappearing rapidly, and everyone who works in the media - particularly journalists - must think about more than one platform when working with content.
360 degree commissioning has moved from being a buzzword to being a reality. Over four evening sessions, Introduction to Multiplatform Content Creation for Journalists will provide an overview of the challenges and opportunities that multiplatform working offers and present strategies and skills to navigate and survive as a freelance content creator in the new media landscape.

This course will give participants an overview of the opportunities and challenges presented by the changing media landscape, providing an opportunity to learn about how interactive experiences can be devised and developed.
You will look at the different platforms available, be given an overview or the markets and a breakdown of the genres for different industries. You will also find out what major broadcasters and publishers are be looking for in a cross platform commission and explore how audiences behave across different platforms. This is an introductory course designed to help people engage with this changing media landscape.
