An intensive, practical masterclass from Patrick Uden, one of television's most influential execs, into the art of writing effectively for multipurpose factual content. The one-day course looks at the evolution of commentary, current styles, narrative structure, similarities and differences in the web and TV, and features practical exercises to teach how to write succinct and suitable commentary and captions for content being distributed across different platforms.
As well as being an exec producer and script consultant on many of the BBC's flagship series, including The Apprentice, Uden was also one of the pioneers of creating cross-platform documentary and factual content at Channel 4.

This course offers an unprecedented opportunity to create and test real cross-platform techniques with a live audience. Over five days, experienced cross-platform dramatists, Rik Lander and Hazel Grian will explore state of the art 360 practice. Participants will devise and test ideas in daily workshops. Actors and web design/tech support are available. On the final day there will be a live online cross-platform transmission and user-testing session coordinated by researchers from the University of the West of England.
