Computer Games - Accreditation Process
Skillset Accreditation refers to specific practice-based courses in the UK that provide the skills, knowledge and experience needed for individuals to confidently enter the computer games industry. These quality marked courses are of the highest standard, as evaluated by the industry. The intention is to deliver a more focussed and 'career aware' supply of graduates.
For undergraduate courses Skillset has prepared detailed criteria against which courses are to be measured:

Application forms are released by Skillset and consist of two stages:
Stage One.
Paper based assessment using existing course outlines and module descriptions to demonstrate coverage of all the necessary criteria.
Successful applications proceed to Stage Two.
Stage Two.
Assessment visit to assess resources and teaching materials, view student work, and interview staff and students.
The assessment team, formed by professional industry people, will focus on the following areas when in the decision-making process of accrediting a course:
1. Learning Outcomes
2. Course Requirements
3. Resources
4. Staffing
It is essential that each course provides evidence that it reaches the specific benchmarks set.
