Industry Associations

TIGA
The Independent Games Developers Trade Association. Offers events, services, and other benefits for independent companies. TIGA Scotland represents members working in the Scottish games cluster.

ELSPA
The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association. Represents the interests of its members and addresses issues affecting the industry as a whole. Publishes the Britsoft directory - a guide to the UK leisure software industry, and the people, companies and services involved.

IGDA
The International Game Developers Association. An independent, not-for-profit association aimed at building a worldwide game development community.

The Scottish Games Alliance
An informal grouping of companies that holds meetings and events of interest to Scottish games developers.

Game Republic
An Independent Trade Alliance for video game development in the Yorkshire & Humber region.

Games Alliance
Superseding the M62 Games Network, the regions previous digital entertainment organisation, the Game Alliance is an independent, industry-lead alliance of game developers and other related companies.

Game Horizon
GameHorizon is about the business of games - building the competitiveness and value of North East games development.

BECTU
BECTU is the union for the broadcasting, audiovisual and entertainment industries in the UK and is recognised as the appropriate union to cover the games industry.

Government Departments

DTI
The Department for Trade and Industry. The digital content and publishing unit's promotes the competitiveness of the computer games industry through dialogue with key companies and intermediaries to ensure that government policies provide an environment for these industries to succeed.

DCMS
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The DCMS aims to improve the quality of life for all through cultural and sporting activities, to support the pursuit of excellence and to champion the tourism, creative and leisure industries.
