
Skillset's offer to the Interactive Media industry
Guided by the Interactive Media Skills Council and following extensive research with industry representatives, Skillset has developed a series of priorities which form the basis of our work within the sector.
These priorities contribute towards determining the types of initiatives and interventions required to meet the industry's emerging and challenging business and skills needs.
These will be regularly reviewed to ensure the focus of our activity remains relevant to changing industry needs and are designed to quickly adapt to the fast moving nature of the sector.
Skillset will:
- Work with Skillset Media Academies to build high class centres of excellence enterprise and innovation, driven by industry standards and practice
- Equip graduates with a high level of commercial and core skills alongside the understanding of multi-platform content development
- Encourage the development of business support initiatives targeted at the needs of the interactive media industry
- Support the specific business needs arising from collaboration between business industries across the wider Creative Media Industries
- Kitemark continuing professional development (CPD) and short course provision which meets the immediate and long term needs of the industry
- Provide opportunities to up, cross-skill and improve employment opportunities across the sector
- Develop preparatory qualifications to open up routes to industry
- Ensure new graduates are equipped with the enduring skills needed for work in a commercial environment
