Runners in Interactive Media

The interactive media sector is still evolving. Companies are involved in a wide range of activities, including website design and construction, games production, interactive TV and developing online learning and educational products. Job titles and job descriptions can vary considerably from company to company and traditional roles don't really apply.

Much depends on the size of the company. In smaller companies there is no need for Runners and Runner duties are usually undertaken by a Production Assistant. Often students are employed from college, perhaps as Receptionists or Office Managers, and then trained up. Interactive media companies have had mixed fortunes in recent years and for many there is no margin in the budgets to employ Runners.
