The Business of Interactive Media

The Business of Interactive Media

Interactive Media employers and employees have identified that the competitive edge of interactive media industries relies on developing higher-level management and leadership skills through training and business support.

Through the Business of Interactive Media project, Skillset and The Media School at Bournemouth University are working closely with interactive media businesses and their staff to develop a suite of example outlines for modular courses, workshops and networking events targeted at freelancers, at individuals running existing companies or at staff within those companies who are being developed as potential leaders and managers.

In the first part of this project, we are looking for more information from EMPLOYERS, EMPLOYEES, FREELANCERS or SOLE TRADERS. If you are an,

  1. EMPLOYER - we would like you to tell us more about the business management and leadership skills from which YOUR TEAM would benefit and the forms of training courses or workshops that would suit YOUR TEAM best;
  2. EMPLOYEE, FREELANCER or SOLE TRADER - we would like you to tell us more about the business management and leadership skills from which YOU would benefit and the forms of training courses or workshops that would suit YOU best.

Please take a few minutes to respond to our questions. Your responses will inform the initial stages of the development of this range of course outlines focused on interactive media business management skills.

TIME COMMITMENT: approx. 20 minutes

Using the guidance from the Skillset Interactive Media Skills Forum, the training programmes will be refined and then tested through interviews with a selection of industry professionals from small-to-mid-scale interactive media companies - a range of employers, employees and freelancers.

TIME COMMITMENT FOR INTERVIEWS: We will conduct 1 interview with each interviewee. These interviews are scheduled to take place 22-31 January 2007 and will last approximately 1 hour.

Please contact the Project Manager, if you would be willing to take part in one of these interviews.
