NVQ/SVQs in Photo Imaging
NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) and SVQs (Scottish Vocational Qualifications) are work-based qualifications that assess a person's ability to perform the skills and competencies that are required for a particular job role.
To work towards an N/SVQ, you need to be in full time or part time employment, working as a freelance, or on a work placement, in a role that will enable you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge that the N/SVQ covers.
N/SVQs can also be taken by college students with a work placement or part time job that enables them to develop the appropriate skills.
You will be assessed 'on the job' as you demonstrate each of the competencies in the different units. You will also be required to gather evidence to support your performance, which may include witness statements from your employer or external assessor confirming that you have demonstrated a particular skill or set of skills.
This portfolio of evidence will be submitted on your completion of the N/SVQ.
