PI Foundation Degrees
Foundation Degrees are vocational, higher education qualifications designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for. They are distinctive because they respond to employer demand and involve employers in the design and delivery of the courses.
For an example of how this is working in practice, see the boxes below.
Foundation degrees can be studied part-time by people already in work, or full-time by students wishing to enter the industry.
A typical full-time Foundation Degree takes two years and students can graduate with an FdA or FdSc or progress to the final year of an appropriate Honours Degree. Part-time study for people in work is available offering flexible study options including, for example, distance learning packages.
Information for Students
Foundation Degrees combine academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and providers.
