A new initiative to identify and approve training providers offering industry relevant digital skills training to support Photo Imaging Professionals
Skillset research has shown that the most significant skills gap across the Photo Imaging industry is in the use of digital technology and knowledge of digital workflow.
In response to this, Skillset is launching a pilot scheme to approve a small bank of providers who are able to offer a range of sector specific digital management short courses.
The aim is to give individuals and companies clear signposting towards courses aimed at meeting immediate skills gaps, that are industry relevant, well taught and managed and offer value for money.
Training providers were invited to apply for accreditation by mid October. Applications are currently being evaluated against rigorous criteria drawn up in consultation with the industry. Candidates will then be visited by an external evaluator and successful applicants will be announced in early 2007.
