Certificate in Journals Publishing
Oxford Brookes University The Certificate provides students with a deeper understanding of the current issues, practices and techniques in journals publishing, including open access, institutional repositories, new business models, and the wider political, academic and economic context. The Helen Frazer Fellowship
A great opportunity for Black and Ethnic Minority Editorial Talent
This is a new six month traineeship run by Penguin Books and based in London. Trainees will learn about all aspects of literary publishing and will gain a comprehensive understanding of the editorial process.
The Fellowship has been founded to honour the work that Helen Fraser, recently retired Managing Director of Penguin Books, has done to address the issue of diversity within the company. The Fellowship aims to identify, encourage and train editorial talent within Britain's black and ethnic minority communities.

ALPSP
The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) is the international trade association for not-for-profit publishers and those who work with them. They provide training courses designed by publishers for the industry across a number of areas including business, finance, editorial, production, e-publishing, legal and marketing.
BBC College of Journalism
The BBC College of Journalism supplies resources and training tools for BBC journalists and for the first time this wealth of information covering every aspect of TV, radio, and online journalism is available to everyone. Subjects covered include craft skills, ethics in journalism and briefings on current news topics and events. The site maintains its relevance and realism by being made, primarily, by working journalists.

Catch 22 Academy
Catch 22 is a youth media social enterprise, supporting 18-30 year olds wanting a media career and focused on social change. Their Journalism Training Academy aims to give young people a thorough grounding in the basics of journalism and is run in collaboration with publishers as well as the London College of Communication. Media partners provide bursaries to cover the majority of students' tuition fees.
As the media landscape has changed Catch 22 has added audio and visual units and from March 2012 the course will be an Introduction to Multimedia Journalism.

Edinburgh Napier University
Celebrating over 40 years as a centre of excellence in publishing education, Postgraduate Publishing is located in the internationally respected Scottish Centre for the Book, which acts as a focus for research and knowledge transfer in publishing (www.napier.ac.uk/scob). Based in Edinburgh, a UNESCO City of Literature and the home of Scottish publishing, the MSc Publishing degree is the first and only publishing course in the UK to be accredited by the Periodical Training Council (PTC), the lead body for best practice in training, development and people management for professional media publishing.
Editorial Training
Editorial Training provide training in editorial skills to people who work on all kinds of publications, whether as freelances or as in-house publishing staff. Using the experience of a team of industry experts, they have developed a range of up-to-date, effective and practical training programmes, including short courses and a distance learning proofreading course, which provide the essential skills needed to succeed in publishing today.
Forum for Editoral Journalism Students
This is a non-profit independent organisation dedicated to the exchange of information in journalism between European citizens. The Forum organises or promotes the meeting of students and professionals of journalism and media in general.

Formerly London College of Printing, LCC is the largest constituent College of the University of the Arts London. Offering a wide range of courses from Diploma level through to MA.

National Council for the Training of Journalists
The NCTJ administers training to journalists, reporters and photographers for the UK newspaper industry. It accredits a number of journalism courses offered by colleges and universities and by distance learning. It hosts many training events and seminars of interest to the aspiring or more established journalist.

The Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies focuses on publishing education and research. The Centre offers a range of postgraduate and undergraduate awards in book, magazine, journal and digital publishing, and also carries out professional development programmes and consultancy.

The Oxford Publicity Partnership (OPP) helps publishers with marketing, publicity, and sales work in the UK and Europe.

PMA Training
PMA is run by professionals and can design and run bespoke workshops to meet a client's criteria.
PPA Training
PPA Training consults widely within the industry and offers vocational open courses in editorial, media sales, digital media, design, marketing, circulation, production, leadership and core publishing skills. Courses cover all the key areas of magazine and business media publishing and course content incorporates the latest industry data and trends.
Publishing Training Centre
2009 is a landmark for the PTC, marking 30 years of training publishers. Originally set up as Book House Training Centre in 1979, the company has three strands: short and residential courses, distance learning and in-company training. Over the last 30 years, PTC has helped not-for-profit and private organisations. Through a wide array of grants and discount schemes, PTC has also assisted freelancers, small companies, those made redundant and those wishing to get into publishing. Now offering over 70 short courses, PTC continues to provide training for the future of publishing.

The Scottish Centre for the Book
The Centre acts as a focus for research and knowledge transfer in publishing, the material book and print culture.
Society for Editors and Proofreaders
Offers members two sets of qualifications, one for proof-reading and one for copy-editing. Also provides training and development for those wishing to develop their editorial skills.
Society of Indexers
Provides training and CPD through workshops and online tutorials to promote indexing, the quality of indexing and raise professionalism in the area.
The Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication
The Stirling Centre was established in 1982, and has since developed a global reputation for its postgraduate degrees in publishing, its research activities, and its industry links. Focusing on book, magazine, journal and digital publishing, the Centre trains the publishers of the future, provides opportunities for those currently working in the industry to reflect on their professional practice, and through its research, critically analyses the past, present and future of the publishing.
University of Central Lancashire
The only Publishing MA course in the North of England. This vocational programme, which runs full time over one year and part time over two years, is aimed at postgraduates who wish to pursue a career in publishing. The university works closely with industry partners including several large publishing houses and the BBC (who are moving to the North West shortly) to ensure their graduates are fully prepared for the changing workplace.
