Audio Visual Qualifications Strategy
For any type of qualification to have value, it must have a clear purpose and must effectively fulfil that purpose. By doing so, it will meet the needs of the learner, developing the appropriate skills and knowledge to achieve the desired attainment or progression. Fit for purpose qualifications also meet the needs of industry, as they develop the appropriate competence and knowledge required for a highly skilled workforce.
Our role as an SSC
Through research and consultation activities, we are able to determine what is needed in terms of skills development for the sector. We are then able to influence the design and development of new and existing vocational qualifications for the sector, for all ages and across all levels.
A shared vision
Skillset has adopted a strategic approach to this work, to ensure that a sector vision is understood and shared with all key stakeholders involved in the development, delivery and regulation of relevant qualifications. Skillset is developing a Qualifications Strategy, which will articulate a sector vision and make concrete recommendations. We hope to have a strategy in place for consultation at the beginning of 2008.
