Organisations in London

Arts Council England, London - Develops and promotes arts across the capital.

BBC - Provides a wide range of distinctive programmes and services for everyone, free of commercial interests and political bias. They include television, radio, national, local, children's, educational, language and other services for key interest groups.

Channel 4 - Provides a broad range of high quality and diverse programming.

Creative Partnerships - Four Creative Partnerships operational in North, East, South and West London (only Central London missing out) who have mapped cultural organisations with which they work.

The Newspaper Education Trust - 2,000 primary and secondary pupils using this newsroom facility each year.

engage - Consortium which covers all museums and galleries.

English National Opera (ENO) - Offers opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience and enjoy opera. The programme includes creative workshops, training courses, performance opportunities, talks and study events and the chance to attend productions at the London Coliseum.

Film London - The capital's film and media agency. Sustains, promotes and develops London as a major international film-making and film cultural capital. This includes all the screen industries based in London - film, television, video, commercials and new interactive media.

Institute of Contemporary Art - Programme covers visual arts, digital arts, music, cinema, talks and educational events. Through the ICA Club it provides a forum for the creative industries, providing networking opportunities and a range of organised events.

London Central Education Business Alliance - Their website can facilitate safe on-line ‘smart' mentoring which lasts for the duration of a project  and enables young people to work with artists and leading practitioners to chat about careers or issues relating to projects.

London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT) - Has re-invented itself as an all-year arts participation activity with a strong educational arm. LIFT is part of the consortium of organisations that runs TAP (Teacher Artist Partnership), a project started three years ago to deliver continual professional development to teachers.

London Schools Arts Service (LONSAS)  - Web portal enabling teachers to locate freelancers and practitioners to support projects across a diverse range of specialisms.

Moving Image Training Alliance (MITA), - Representing 20+ Independent Training Providers covering film.

Photographers Gallery- Their core collection consists of classic and contemporary photographs from talented artists and reputable archives.

Sound Connections - Representing 15+ Independent Training Providers covering music.

Supporting Talent to Enterprise Programme (STEP) - Is a grouping of the non-formal learning sector which works across the creative and media industries.

Tate - With two galleries in London, a gallery in St Ives and another in Liverpool, Tate's mission is to increase public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of British art from the sixteenth century to the present day and of international modern and contemporary art.

The Guardian - Founded in 1821 and has a long history of editorial and political independence.

Victoria and Albert Museum   - The V&A offers a range of dynamic programmes and resources to school students and teachers as well as FE and HE students and lecturers.

Westminster Arts - Westminster City Council - Produces an Arts Directory which lists nearly 200 creative and cultural organisations and training providers in Westminster.
