Delivering the Diploma
The Diploma in Creative and Media is a new qualification which will be available to young people aged 14-19 in some schools and colleges from September 2008.
No school will be capable of delivering the full entitlement on their own. Schools, colleges and other providers wishing to offer the Diploma have grouped together into consortia. This collaboration between institutions ensures both that the full range of provision is available.
A network of consortia has been created to ensure student access to the Diploma across the whole of England. A second round of consortia will start to operate from September 2009. Institutions wanting to add the Diploma in Creative and Media to their curriculum offer will have to apply by December 2007.

Supporting existing consortia
In the run-up to the first teaching of the Diploma in September 2008, the Diploma Development Partnership for Creative and Media has devised a host of ways to support consortia.
