NVQs for Grips and Crane Technicians
NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications) and SVQs (Scottish Vocational Qualifications) are work-based qualifications that assess a person's ability to perform the skills and competencies that are required for a particular job role.
The NVQs for Grips are available at Levels 2 and 3 and the Crane Technicians at Level 2. Both qualifications are based on the 2003 version of the Grips National Occupational Standards and were developed through consultation with industry practitioners. Please see below the qualification structures for the Grips and Crane Technicians NVQs:

These NVQs are available in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. To work towards an NVQ, you need to be in full time or part time employment or working as a freelancer in a role that will enable you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge that the NVQ covers.
You will be assessed 'on the job' as you demonstrate each of the competencies in the different units. You will also be required to gather evidence to support your performance, which may include witness statements from your employer or external assessor confirming that you have demonstrated a particular skill or set of skills. This portfolio of evidence will be submitted on your completion of the NVQ.
If you are interested in taking one of these NVQs you should contact FT2, who are the assessment centre offering these qualifications. Please find further documentation below :
