Vocational Preparatory Qualifications
Skillset is in the process of developing new vocational qualifications (VQs) in priority occupational areas as identified by industry. The need for VQs in specific areas has emerged as a result of the extensive consultation with employers and stakeholders.
Skillset's strategic partnership with City and Guilds is playing a key role in this development process.
The first new development is the Certificate for Audio Visual Industries Awareness and this new course aimed at students and new entrants provides the essential skills and knowledge to prepare new entrants for the realities of the industry. The qualification was piloted in London and is now available nationally. It will also form part of new Skillset apprenticeships.
