About our work
Skillset Radio Sector Manager - Amy Thomas - is responsible for Skillset's work with the radio sector and co-ordinates Skillset's contribution to the Radio Skills Development Forum. Find out who is on the Forum and what it does here.
Skillset works with national and local public service broadcasters like the BBC, commercial stations owned by the likes of GCap Media, community stations like Radio Regen and New Style Radio, and also voluntary and training organisations who produce radio programmes and offer training such as CSV Media. We also liaise with Higher and Further Education providers which offer courses in radio production and technology.
Skillset has also developed a Radio Industry Skills Strategy for the sector and we have gathered the views of as many Radio people as we can. We held Focus Groups in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Glasgow for people from a wide range of stations to discuss the issues which are most important for them and also offered online consultation for 3 months.
If you have any questions about the strategy or any other questions please do email Amy at amyt@skillset.org or contact Jo Welch jow@skillset.org. Amy is also Regional Manager and Jo Welch is Regional Co-ordinator for East and West Midlands.
