The data we collect
The Skillset Employment Census maps the shape and size of the workforce of the creative industries.
These important data inform Skillset's own work and strategies, and the activities of Government, industry and training providers for creative media. The Census enables you to have a direct impact on how Skillset uses its funds to make sure that we have a world class, highly skilled workforce.
Since 2000, the survey has mapped the shape and size of the workforce in these sectors, to obtain:
- Total employment estimates for each sector, occupation, nation and English region;
- Breakdown by gender, ethnic origin and disability;
- Information on how the workforce is changing over time.
These important data inform Skillset's own work and strategies, and the activities of Government, industry and training providers for the creative industries.
