Skillset Research Strategy 2008-11

The Research Committee consists of professionals from across industry and Government. Many of the organisations represented were active in the establishment of our Research Programme 10 years ago, and have contributed to its development as Skillset's remit has grown. The committee meets 3 to 4 times a year.

Timely Labour Market Research
The Research Programme consists of a regular cycle of publications including an Employment Census and Workforce and Employer Surveys. The Research Committee advises on the development and implementation of this activity to encourage the generation of data needed for Skillset to target resources effectively.

Promoting Research
The Research Committee is also charged with supporting and promoting all Skillset research work within the members' organisations and throughout the Creative Industries, whenever feasible and appropriate.

Overall Strategy
As LMI is at the heart of all Skillset's work, the Chair and the Deputy Chair of the Research Committee contribute to Skillset's overall strategy by attending annual Council Meetings and Board of Director's Meetings. The minutes of the Research Committee are also made available to National Boards and Sector Councils.
