Surveys of the Workforce
Skillset's surveys of the workforce provide the most comprehensive profile of working life in the UK creative media sectors ever produced.
The first Workforce Survey was conducted in 2003 and includes both employees and freelancers within the creative media industries. Prior to this, a Freelance Survey was conducted, also on a biennial basis, focused solely on freelancers in the creative media industries.
There have also been a number of ad hoc reports developed for particular sectors which contribute to the overall picture of employment and demographic patterns in the UK media. You can access such reports concerning film production, performance and journalism below.
