AMIA - Association of Moving Image Archivists
AMIA is a non-profit professional association established to advance the field of moving image archiving. It does this by fostering co-operation among individuals and organisations concerned with the acquisition, description, preservation, exhibition and use of moving image materials. AMIA is the world's largest professional association of moving image archivists.

BAPLA - British Assocation of Picture Libraries and Agencies
UK trade association for picture libraries and agencies, with 420+ member companies, who in turn manage 450+ million images. BAPLA's aims are to promote best practice and dialogue through its work in education, network, lobbying, promotion and research. BAPLA works to raise and maintain standards in the industry and endorse training courses.

BBC Archives
The BBC holds one of the largest media archives in the world, with over 4 million physical items for TV and radio. Use this site to discover themed collections of radio and TV programmes, documents and photographs. Or go behind the scenes with the BBC Archivists to learn more about the BBC Archives are maintained, to uncover forgotten stories from the Written Archives and to see how broadcasting has changed through the decades.

British Film Institute National Archive
The BFI National Archive is one of the world's greatest collections of film and television. The majority of the collection is British material but it also features internationally significant holdings. The BFI is the custodian of the UK's moving image heritage. The Archive collects, preserves, restores and then shares films and television programmes with the public.

British Pathe
This site allows free access to preview items online from the entire 3,500 hour British Pathe Film Archive which covers news, sport, social history and entertainment from 1896 to 1970.

British Universities Film and Video Council
The British Universities Film and Video Council (BUFVC) is a representative body which promotes the production, study and use of moving image, sound and related media in higher education and research.

Digital Preservation: the PrestoSpace Experience
A website for archive owners, academics and the public alike, which provides a first port of call for information on the migration and digital preservation of audio/visual works. You will find information ranging from the tutorial to the academic on planning and executing a digital preservation project and the technologies and processes involved. You will also find training videos, management tools and links to online resources and events in the field of digital preservation.

FIAF - International Federation of Film Archives
FIAF brings together the world's leading institutions in the field of moving picture heritage. Its affiliates are dedicated to the rescue, collection, preservation and screening of moving images, which are valued both as works of art and culture and as historical documents.

FIAT - Interational Federation of Television Archives
The International Federation of Television Archives is an international professional association established to provide a means for co-operation amongst broadcast and national audiovisual archives and libraries concerned with the collection, preservation and exploitation of moving image and recorded sound materials and associated documentation.

Focal International
The Federation of Commercial Audiovisual Libraries International is a not-for-profit professional trade association providing excellent networking and marketing opportunities for content industry professionals and giving users easy access to over 300 members worldwide.

Huntley Film Archives
Huntley Film Archives is one of the largest independent film libraries in the UK, with a collection of more than 80,000 titles. As a commercial archive, they provide film clips to broadcasters and other production companies.

Imperial War Museum Collections
The Imperial War Museum has an unparalleled collection covering all aspects of twentieth and twenty-first century conflict involving Britain and the Commonwealth. This includes 120 million feet of cine film, 10,000 hours of videotape and 56,000 hours of historical sound recordings. The website provides unprecedented access to large parts of this rich resource and is continually updated.

The National Archives
The National Archives is at the heart of information policy, setting standards and supporting innovation in information and records management across the UK. It provides advice on opening up and encouraging the re-use of public sector information. The National Archives is also the UK government's official archive, containing 900 years of history with records ranging from parchment and paper scrolls through to digital files and archived websites. The National Archives makes open records available to all, either onsite or online, continuously developing new tools to make history tangible for everyone.

National Media Museum
The National Media Museum is part of the National Museum of Science and Industry Museums Group. It exists to engage, inspire and educate by promoting an understanding and appreciation of photography, film, television, radio and the web. It uses its collection and knowledge to deliver a cultural programme accessibly and authoritatively.

Regional Film Archives
This site is a research guide to the UK's twelve public sector moving image archives. It presents detailed information and clips from these fascinating and valuable film and television collections.

The Society of Archivists
This is the principal professional body for archivists, archive conservators and records managers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The society exists to promote the care and preservation of archives and the better administration of archive repositories, to advance the training of its members and to encourage relevant research and publication.

UK Film Archive Forum
The Film Archive Forum represents all of the public sector film and television archives
which care for the UK's moving image heritage. The Forum represents the UK's public sector moving image archives in all archival aspects of the moving image, and acts as the advisory body on national moving image archive policy.
