Sustainability and The Green Team
"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little"
Edmund Burke, Statesman and Philosopher 1729-97
Skillset recognise in our day-to-day operations that we inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways and we wish to minimise the potential harmful effects of such activity wherever and whenever possible.
As an organisation we will strive to address the balance of our present needs with future sustainability. We have formed a 'Green Team' which is dedicated to developing and implementing our environmental policy and action plan. This demonstrates a commitment to a process of continual improvement and best practice. As a London employer we have signed up to the Mayor's Green Procurement Code, and are actively seeking to work with suppliers who share our aims. In order to demonstrate our commitment we are trying to achieve the Green Mark, an award scheme that enables small and medium sized businesses from any industry to demonstrate their on-going environmental improvement & commitment to customers and other stakeholders.
Skillset's Sustainability Aim:
To create a working environment where we are conscious of our day-to-day impact on the environment and progressively work to minimise that impact. We will do this by raising employee awareness of the consequences of our actions, promoting the implementation of positive environmental stewardship initiatives and by encouraging employee involvement and recognition.
Our Sustainability Policy sets out our overall approach to sustainability within Skillset and in the wider industries. It is available for download below. ![]()
