Skillset recognise in our day-to-day operations that we inevitably impact on the environment in a number of ways and we wish to minimise the potential harmful effects of such activity wherever and whenever possible.
As an organisation we strive to address the balance of our present needs with future sustainability. In 2005, we formed a 'Green Team' dedicated to developing and implementing our environmental policy and action plan. This demonstrates a commitment to a process of continual improvement and best practice.
As a London employer we signed up to the Mayor's Green Procurement Code and we always actively seek to work with suppliers who share our aims.
We successfully attained Level 1 of the Green Mark; this is an award scheme that enables small and medium sized businesses from any industry to demonstrate to customers and other stakeholders their commitment to ongoing environmental improvement.
We now have regular Green Forums which allow all staff to get involved and contribute to making our organisation an environmentally-friendly workplace and ensuring a green ethos is in place.
Skillset's Sustainability Aim
To create a working environment where we are conscious of our day-to-day impact on the environment and progressively work to minimise that impact. We will do this by raising employee awareness of the consequences of our actions, promoting the implementation of positive environmental stewardship initiatives and by encouraging employee involvement and recognition.
