Animation Training Bursary
Animation training bursary launched

Skillset has launched a training bursary scheme for individuals working in the animation industry or using animation techniques. It is the first scheme of its kind specifically aimed at improving the skills of animation practitioners in England.
Bursaries of up to £1,500 are available to freelancers and employees of companies with less than 250 employees living or working in England with at least 2 years experience.
Successful applicants must identify a training course beneficial to their careers that can be completed by 7 December 2004.

The closing date for applications is 8 October.
Skillset is particularly keen to hear from people in the following areas:
·3D CG
·2D digital skills
·Editing
·Business skills for producers
·Life drawing
·Pre-production (storyboard, layout, character design, scriptwriting)
·Production management

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries. Audio visual industries in this context means, Broadcast, Film, Video, Interactive Media and Photo Imaging. Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) are independent, UK wide organisations developed by groups of influential employers in industry or business sectors of economic or strategic significance. SSCs are employer-led and actively involve trade unions, professional bodies and other stakeholders in the sector.
