Skillset at Focus on Imaging
SKILLSET will be hosting two free seminars with top industry panellists on key current industry issues at Focus on Imaging 2005. 'Moving from Amateur to Professional' and 'Leap into Digital' will take place on Tuesday 1 March. Skillset will also be exhibiting at the show for the first time. Information on careers and skills development opportunities for both individuals and employers will be available at the Skillset stand - H11 which will also be showcasing Skillset's new website - a one stop shop for all information and guidance for those working or wanting to work in the photo imaging sector.
Both seminars will be chaired by PMA Director and Skillset board member Nigel McNaught and held in Suite 27.

Pippa Walkley, Skillset Photo Imaging Manager, said:
"As newcomers to the show we wanted to introduce Skillset and update people on the work we have been doing in photo imaging over the last year. Since establishing the Photo Imaging Skills Forum - made up of industry representatives who inform and drive our work - we've made great progress with apprenticeships for the sector; national occupational standards; and there's been a real emphasis on developing realistic careers information and guidance materials including fact sheets and the new website which will be an invaluable resource for employers and individuals forging a career in the sector. "
Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries, is the organisation responsible for addressing skills issues in the photo imaging industry. Sector Skills Councils are industry led, UK wide organisations licensed by government to tackle skills and productivity challenges by sector. Skillset also covers the broadcast, film, video and interactive media sectors.
