Skillset funds Masters of the CineVerse

Skillset has announced that it will be helping fund the educational resource, CineMasters. Set up by the Cine Guilds of Great Britain, this online resource enables education professionals to contact specialist film and TV personnel on the database, to help educate and inspire the industry's upcoming talent.

Visitors to the CineMasters website can check the professional credits and awards of individual CineMasters who have agreed to join the scheme and can then book these industry professionals to come and talk to students about their lives and works.

The talks are available to those institutions outside of the Screen Academies and accredited courses, which means master classes are available for undergraduates, postgraduates, industry professionals, general interest groups such as film clubs and specialist equipment technical classes.

"CineMasters will give the next generation of ‘new media' lecturers and students the most in-depth insight into the art of professional film and television production, " comments Joe Dunton, Chair of Cine Guilds and CineMasters. "Between them, the CineMasters represent thousands of years-worth of knowledge which must be passed on to maintain the UK as a leader in the international industry."

Dinah Caine, CEO of Skillset comments, "We are very happy to be supporting CineMasters in its efforts to reach out, educate and motivate new industry talent. This important resource allows the passion, skills and experience of well-known industry figureheads to be passed on to aspiring filmmakers and programmers, helping to maintain the high standards that have come to be expected of the UK Film and TV industry."
