Lucy Eyre. Art Department trainee FT2

The first day working on BBC Drama 'A Hustle', Lucy Eyre couldn't quite believe she was actually there. She got the media bug while helping out an art director friend of a friend when studying for a degree in languages and business. "But it wasn't a career for people like me. That's the feeling I had. That's what other people told me. It's something other lucky people get to do. So now I'm actually here, I have to pinch myself!"

After University, Lucy worked where she could chalking up experience in runners' jobs on short films, working the autocue at CNN and being a production secretary on 'The Naked Chef'. "It was a great start but I was getting discouraged because I couldn't break into drama and film which is where I wanted to be. That's where FT2 came in. The induction has given me a great advantage and insight into the industry as a whole. I've learnt about other departments and have a better view of the hierarchy and how it all fits together."

FT2 trainees getting some expereince

The worst moment of the 8 week shoot was getting to grips with driving in London. "It was a nightmare! I hadn't driven since I passed my test but it all came back..eventually." Lucy's next job is on a two part ITV Drama, 'She's Gone', with Ray Winstone. "My ambition is just to keep working. The FT2 training is such a great opportunity as you get to do drama, features and commercials. I just want to learn as much as possible. I do like stylised visuals, like Brazil and The Huddersucker Proxy, so I'd love to work on stuff like that but just to work would make me happy."
