The Alliance of Sector Skills Councils: following the closure of The Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA), 1st April 2008 saw the launch of the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils - a collective body made up of all 25 SSCs.

UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES): the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (also opened for business on 1st April 2008 as a result of Leitch), operates across the UK and plays a central role in raising the UK's skills base.
