Skillset develops and maintains a whole suite of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the majority of occupations across the creative media industries.
NOS provide a clear description of what you need to be able do in order to perform your job competently. They consist of a detailed breakdown of the tasks, knowledge and skills needed for effective performance within a job role, including any statutory or legal responsibilities.
Covering areas such as Production (Film & TV), Animal Training, Camera, Interactive Media & Computer Games, these standards are available free of charge to employers, trainers, freelancers and anyone interested in the skills and competences of the jobs in our industries. Use of Standards
You can compare your performance to these nationally developed benchmarks of good practice. Standards will help you to be very clear about what you need to achieve. They are outcome based - describing WHAT needs to be done, and specifying HOW to do it, in a not prescriptive manner.
