Using Standards in education and training
Standards are outcome based - in other words they look at what needs to be done, they are not prescriptive in telling you how to do it.
Educators can use Standards as the basis for:
- developing training;
- lesson planning;
- shaping new qualifications, including Foundation Degrees;
- revitalising current provision or identify gaps.
Each suite of Standards have been developed by experts from each occupational field, and through a process of investigation, analysis and consultation. Skillset encourages all training developers and providers to map their provision to the Standards which is why they are a free resource. You can also download the Measuring Up Brochure for free to use as a resource.
