Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Digital content is produced and distributed through an ever increasing range of platforms and technologies. This relentless change is affecting every role in every sub-sector of the creative media, so there is a constant need for staff and freelancers to update their skills.
The vast majority of CPD training in our industry is through short courses with a focus on specialist higher level skills. These courses do not generally attract public funding.
On behalf of the film and television industries, Skillset collects and manages industry investment every year which supports the CPD for freelancers and employees working in those sectors.
Skillset is also working with the public bodies in the four nations in order to leverage more public investment for continuous professional development programmes in our industry that will help transform the both national and local economies.
