Further and Higher Education
Across all sectors there is a growing range of diverse further and higher education provision aimed at the industry. 66% of the workforce are graduates, 24% hold postgraduate qualifications. Over 70% of employers see further and higher education as providing the potential to support pre entry skills and knowledge.
In each sector however, the industry has identified a need to work more strategically with FE and HE providers to target resources to known centres or courses of excellence and to assist students and funding bodies make informed decisions about courses.
Skillset's Approvals System is critical to our work with Further and Higher Education. Below are just a few of the other activities we are undertaking in this area to ensure training and education provision matches industry needs.
Skillset Accreditation
Working with industry, Skillset accredits those practice-based courses that most effectively provide students with the skills and knowledge that employers need.
