Underpinning all the initiatives within the Sector Skills Agreement, high quality accurate Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is essential to ensure that people make well informed decisions about their learning or career paths in our sector. Public IAG provision is often limited in addressing this need in our sector.
We believe that due to our unique links with industry, Skillset is best placed to collect and disseminate labour market intelligence and occupational information about careers in the audio visual industries.
Careers Information, Advice and Guidance services provided through us or supported by us would be accurate, up to date and address the misconceptions about industry careers which exist.
The provision of informed IAG is vital to our industries due to an over-supply of new entrants, large number of freelance employees and lack of clear career paths.
