
Skillset Approval
Working with industry, Skillset approves institutions and training organisations which provide industry relevant education and training.
To become an approved institution they must:
- Meet a set of high quality standards;
- Always be striving to improve.
Industry representatives form the assessment teams and evaluate the institution/organisations against criteria such as strategy, premises, staff, finance and communications.
A panel of well respected industry practitioners then makes the final decisions regarding approval. So far, Skillset has awarded approval to organisations in the following fields:
- Seventeen Skillset Media Academies that work with industry in developing the new wave of media talent;
- Six Skillset Screen Academies and one Skillset Film Business Academy collectively offer practice based education directly relevant to the film industry;
- Twelve Industry Training Providers are delivering excellent training for the audio visual industries;
- Skillset Approved status has also been awarded to six training companies which specifically offer Digital Skills Training to Photo Imaging professionals.
