Skillset-supported New Entrant Schemes
Skillset supports schemes for freelance new entrants that combine industry work placements with short course training, mentoring and assessment.
Generally in order to get on a scheme you need to:
- be passionate about creative media and committed to a freelance career;
- have had some experience of working in the creative media industries, paid or unpaid;
- be ready to participate for 3 to 18 months (you will get an allowance to help you do this).
There's a lot of competition so you need to be committed to a media career and understand what it will involve. Find out more about creative media careers in our Careers section.
Read the guidelines for schemes fully and ensure your application form is complete before sending it in. Prepare well for the interview – it's your opportunity to shine.
