Skillset TV Freelance Fund
The TV Freelance Fund is the result of an agreement between all UK broadcasters, Pact and the Broadcast Training and Skills Regulator, to invest in training for the freelance television workforce. The contributors are: BBC, ITV (including all national and regional companies), Channel 4, Five, cable and satellite companies, and the Indie Training Fund.
Freelancers make up over a third of the TV industry's workforce, but only a fifth of TV employers carry out training and development for the freelancers they employ, and this is usually on the job training.* The TV Freelance Fund gives freelancers access to the most up to date, relevant industry courses at reduced prices as most of the time, they have no other source of financial support for training and development.
If you are a training organisation offering courses of particular benefit to the UK television industry, you can apply to the Fund to enable you to offer these discounts. Follow the link below. This year the Fund is prioritising courses that develop creative leaders and entrepreneurs, and enable TV professionals to create content for multi-platform delivery.
