Seize Opportunities for Enterprise: Inspiring Women's Enterprise in TV

The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, Salford - 10 February 2012

BBC Bristol - 27 February 2012

Skillset, London - 7 March 2012

Workshops will take place from 9.30am - 4.30pm.

All three workshops have been subsidised by the Skillset TV Skills Fund and are now only £40+VAT. Each one is limited to 20 places.

These one day workshops are aimed at women with proven professional experience in the TV industry or who are returning to the industry after a career break. If you are setting up or growing a business, diversifying your current freelance or company interests or looking for contracts, this workshop is for you.

Get ideas and inspiration from real-life success stories in the sector and learn ways to boost your confidence and understand your personal motivation. Advice will be available on how to raise your profile, attract clients, find a work-life balance and create a personal action plan.

You will also have the opportunity to apply for professional business development coaching and network with a group of women who are considering the same paths as you.

"This workshop is the ideal way to find out about current opportunities and the skills you need to take advantage of them. Our industry needs to take advantage of the talents and abilities of women who may have taken career breaks but have a huge amount to offer." Maggie Philbin, Broadcast Journalist, BBC TV and Radio

These workshops have been organised by the UKRC, the leading organisation combatting the under-representation of women in science, engineering and technology. Skillset and the UKRC are particularly keen to attract participants who wish to work in disciplines where women are under-represented such as crew, editing, grading, special effects and financial services.
