East Midlands Education Focus Group
Further to discussion on how Skillset can best facilitate and contribute to productive working relationships between the local industry, further and higher education institutions and learning providers, the East Midlands Education Focus Group (EM EFG) was established.
Since its creation, the EM EFG has explored a range of issues including industry engagement with education, work-related learning, sponsorship opportunities and curriculum design and development.
Representatives from consortia offering the Diploma in Creative and Media from 2008 are also represented on the group.

In 2006, the Midlands team successfully secured funding from the East Midlands Learning and Skills Council to support a project looking specifically at industry engagement with further education providers in the region. The resulting report maps education provision related to the audio visual industries, describes a range of engagement activities and profiles a selection of providers across the region.
